қутбӣ

қутбӣ: polar

Қариб ҳафтод фойзи оби ширин дар пиряхҳои қутбӣ ва пиряхҳои кӯҳӣ воқеъ гардидаанд.

Add the suffix ӣ to the noun қутб (pole) to form the adjective қутбӣ (polar).

зеризаминӣ

зеризаминӣ: underground

Обҳои зеризаминӣ барои нӯшокӣ ва обёрӣ истифода мебаранд.
They use underground water for drinking and irrigation.
Сарватҳои зеризаминии металлӣ асосан дар Тоҷикистони Шимолӣ ва Марказӣ мавҷуданд.
Underground metallic resources exist mainly in North and Central Tajikistan.

гарм

гарм: warm, hot

Корду тахтачаҳоро бо оби гарм нағз шустан лозим аст.
It is necessary to wash the knives and cutting boards well with hot water.
Дар мамлакатҳои иқлимаш гарму хушк оби дарёҳо барои обёрӣ сарф мешавад.
In countries where the climate is warm and dry water from rivers is used for irrigation.

Notice in the first sentence that there is no plural ending on knives. When two or more plural nouns are listed in Tajik, the plural ending only has to go on the last item in the list.

бой: abundant, bountiful

Олами ҳайвоноти ҷангалҳои Амрикои Ҷанубӣ бою гуногун аст.
The animal life in the jungles of South America is bountiful and varied.
Обҳои Антарктида аз плактон бойанд, ки барои кит манбаи хӯрок мебошанд.
The waters of the Antarctic are abundant with plankton, which are a source of food for the whale.

Bonus:

When the word бой is connected to у (and), the letter й is dropped. This is the same with all words ending with ой.
лой: mud
лою об: mud and water
чой: tea
чою нон: tea and bread
пой: foot
пою даст: foot and hand

Just as in English, the word бой, often translated as “rich”, has many meanings. It can mean “wealthy”, “diverse”, “vibrant”.

ниҳоят

ниҳоят: extremely, very

Дарахтон дар ин қишлоқ ниҳоят бисъёранд.
There are very many trees in this village.
Шаршараи Искандардарё ҳамагӣ якчанд метр баландӣ дорад, аммо дар дарёҳои олам шаршараҳое мавҷуданд, ки ниҳоят баланданд.
The Lake Iskanderkul waterfall has a height of several metres, but in the rivers of the world there exist waterfalls that are extremely high.

ниҳоят зарур: very necessary

кӯҳӣ

кӯҳӣ: mountainous, mountain (adj.)

Tajikistan is a mountainous country that is located in the south and east of Central Asia.
Бегоҳ ҳаво салқин мешавад ва дар водиҳо боди кӯҳӣ мевазад.
In the evening the weather is cool and in the valleys a mountain wind blows.

When you add the letter ӣ to a noun, it becomes an adjective.

бачагона

бачагона: children’s, of (or for) children

Дар китобхонаи бачагона кор мекунам.
I work in the children’s library.
Ман аз мағоза либоси бачагона харидам.
I bought children’s clothes from the shop.

Bonus:
When the suffix она is added to a noun, it becomes an adjective. When the noun ends in a vowel the suffix is гона.
