хабар додан: to inform, to give information
хабар доштан: to know, to have information
хабардор: informed (хабар + present stem of доштан)

Ба модарат ёрӣ деҳ.
Help your mother.
Ман шуморо барои ин ҷеғ задам, ки ба ман ёрӣ диҳед.
I called you so that you could help me.

Bonus:
ёрӣ: help
додан: to give

The first sentence could also be translated, “Give help to your mother”.

Lots of Tajik verbs combine a noun with the verb додан. Here are some others:
хабар додан: to inform, to give information
ҷазо додан: to punish, to give punishment
фармон додан: to order, to give an order
баҳо додан: to grade, to give a grade

Бе Офтоб ҳаёт вуҷуд дошта наметавонад.
Without the sun life can not exist.
Олимон муайян кардаанд, ки дар дунё зиёда аз 350 ҳазор намуди растанӣ вуҷуд дорад.
Scientists have determined that in the world more than 350 thousand kinds of plants exist.

вуҷуд: existence
доштан: to have
ба вуҷуд овардан: to create, to bring into existence
ба вуҷуд омадан: to be created, to come into existence

Many Tajik verbs consist of a noun with the verb доштан (to have). Here are some more examples –
камӣ доштан: to lack, to have a lack
монандӣ доштан: to resemble, to have a similarity
умед доштан: to hope, to have hope

Ман ҳеҷ камӣ надорам.
I don’t lack anything.
Касе ки бисёр ҷамъ карда буд, зиёдатӣ надошт, ва касе ки кам ҷамъ карда буд, камӣ надошт.
The person who had gathered a lot had no extra, and the person who had gathered a little, had no shortage.

Bonus:
камӣ: lack, deficiency
доштан: to have

Synonyms: нуқсон доштан, норасоӣ доштан, эҳтиёҷ доштан

Opposite: зиёдӣ доштан (to have extra, to have a lot)

Пагоҳ сӯҳбат мекунем.
We’ll talk tomorrow.
Ту китобро хон, баъд сӯҳбат мекунем.
You read the book, then we’ll talk.

Bonus:
Synonyms: гап задан, гуфтугӯ кардан

Кӣ туро бар мо сардор ва довар таъйин кардааст?
Who has appointed you leader and judge over us?
Ба корҳои давлатӣ шахсонро аз рӯи дониш ва ҳунарашон таъйин кардан лозим аст.
For government work it is necessary to appoint people according to their knowledge and skill.

Bonus:
таъйин шудан: to be appointed
таъйиннома: letter of appointment (for example, to a new job or position)

таъйиншуда: appointed
Examples –
рӯзи таъйиншуда: appointed day
вақти таъйиншуда: appointed time
бинои таъйиншуда: appointed building

Лоиқ Шералӣ 30 июни соли 2000 дар шаҳри Душанбе вафот кард.
Loiq Sherali died on the 30th of June 2000 in the city of Dushanbe.
Азиза аз хурдӣ ятим монд баъд аз модараш вафот кард.
Aziza was left an orphan at a young age after her mother died.

Bonus:
Synonyms: мурдан, фавтидан, аз дунё гузаштан

фавот: death

Ба мо нигоҳ кун.
Look at us.
Вай маро фарёд кард, аммо ман ба қафоям нигоҳ накарда рафтан гирифтам.
He called me, but I didn’t look back and kept on going.

Synonym: нигаристан

нигоҳ карда нишастан: to wait

To translate “keep on”, use the infinitive of a verb followed by the conjugated verb гирифтан. See the second sentence for an example. More examples –
рафтан гиред: keep on going
хӯрдан гиред: keep on eating

Шумо метавонед, дар ин ҷо пинҳон шавед.
You can hide (yourself) here.
Рӯбоҳ дар хонаи чӯбфурӯш пинҳон шуд.
The fox hid (itself) in the wood seller’s house.

Bonus:
Synonym: руст шудан

There is a difference between hiding oneself and hiding something else.
пинҳон шудан: to hide (oneself), to be hidden
пинҳон кардан: to hide (something)
Example –
Ман китобашро пинҳон кардам. I hid his book.
