зиндагӣ: life

Зиндагӣ кутоҳ аст!
Life is short!
Асоси зиндагӣ ва хушбахтии мо модар аст.
The foundation of our life and our happiness is (our) mother.

To turn зиндагӣ into a verb add кардан, to do.

пистазор

пистазор: pistachio orchard

Пас аз чор соат мо ба пистазор расидем.
We arrived at the pistachio orchard after four hours.
Дар кӯҳҳои мо пистазор бисёр аст.
In our mountains there are many pistachio orchards.

Bonus:
Писта means both pistachio and pistachio tree.
The suffix -зор means “place of”. Some other words with the suffix -зор –
алафзор: field, pasture (алаф: grass)
ангурзор, токзор: vineyard (ангур: grape, ток: vine)
хорзор: a place with lots of thorn bushes (хор: thorn)
гулзор: flower garden, a place where lots of flowers grow (гул: flower)

омадан

омадан: to come

Мо аз Панҷакент дирӯз омадем.
We came from Panjakent yesterday.
Онҳо бевақт меоянд.
They will come late.
Баъди як соат биё.
Come after one hour.
Меҳмонон аллакай омада буданд.
The guests had already arrived.
Модари шумо имрӯз меомадагист.
Your mother might come today.

тарсу бим

тарсу бим: fear

Ӯ аз ҳеҷ чиз тарсу бим надорад.
He has no fear of anything. (He is not scared of anything.)
Онҳо бетарсу бим гапашонро гуфтанд.
They spoke without fear. (They said their speech without fear.)

Bonus:
The words тарс and бим both mean fear. In Tajik sometimes two words with similar meanings are combined with у (and) to emphasize the meaning.
Synonym: тарсу ҳарос
Sometimes two related words are combined with у.
тарсу ларз: fear and trembling

дуюм

дуюм: second

Ман дар синфи дуюм мехонам.
I am in second grade.
Хурӯс бори дуюм бонг зад.
The rooster crowed a second time.

Bonus:
Sometimes this word is written дувум.
To form ordinal numbers (first, second, third…) add the suffix -ум to the number. If the number ends in a vowel, the suffix is -юм.
як, якум: one, first
ду, дуюм: two, second
се, сеюм: three, third
чор, чорум: four, fourth
Ordinal numbers are often abbreviated when writing dates, as in “5-уми апрел” (the fifth of April).

ҳанӯз

ҳанӯз: yet, still

Соат даҳ шуд, аммо поезд ҳанӯз наомадааст.
It is ten o’clock, but the train has still not come.
Мавсими анҷир ҳанӯз нарасида буд.
The season for figs had not yet arrived.

Bonus:
Synonyms: то ҳол, то ин вақт, то акнун, ҳоло ҳам.

монандӣ доштан

монандӣ доштан: to be like, to resemble

Онҳо ба ҳамдигар каме монандӣ доранд.
They resemble each other a little.
Қишлоқи мо ба қишлоқҳои пештара ҳеҷ монандӣ надорад.
Our village is not like old (former) villages.

Bonus:
Can also be translated as “to be similar”. The first sentence might be better translated as “They are a bit similar to each other.”

кифоя

кифоя: enough

Барои одамони калон ҳашт соат хоб кардан кифоя аст.
For adults, eight hours of sleep is enough.
Шаш ҳазор рубли русӣ барои зиндагии дар пойтахти Русия кифоя нест.
Six thousand Russian rubles is not enough for living in the capital of Russia.

Bonus:
Synonyms: басанда, кофӣ
Another way to express if something is enough:
мерасад: it is enough; it will be enough
намерасад: it is not enough; it will not be enough

гулмоҳӣ

гулмоҳӣ: trout

Як гулмоҳӣ аз 2 то 5 кг вазн дорад.
One trout has a weight of from 2 to 5 kilos.
Аз ҳама зебо гулмоҳии зарди тиллоранг аст.
The most beautiful of them all is the golden yellow trout.

рӯидан

рӯидан: to grow

Дар ҳудуди Тоҷикистон 25 намуди лола мерўяд.
Within Tajikistan 25 kinds of tulip grow.
Биринҷ аксар дар даруни об мерӯяд.
Rice mainly grows in water.

Bonus:
Use рӯидан if something is growing on its own. If you want to say that you grow something (or make something grow) then you have to use рӯёнидан (or рӯёндан). Example:
700 тонна ғалла рӯёниданд. They grew 700 tons of grain.
